*North High School is one of the 1st schools in Iowa to adopt 1:1 computers, but it has not been an easy process for the teachers, nor the parents. This website includes information on technology fees and reminders, agreements on the laptop, as well as MacBook care and user guide. This website may not be how all schools are doing 1:1 computers, but it will give you a good start!
*An Iowa State University Education leader designed an event in Polk County to speak to more than 550 teachers and administrators from Iowa school districts, along with, Illinois, Minnesota and Oklahoma school districts to persuade them to get 1:1 computers in their schools
*The University of Northern Iowa has come up with a website that includes Power Point slides all about 1:1 computers, including statistics, examples, and school districts that are already using 1:1 in their schools
*OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) is an organization that gives laptops to children in many countries that cannot afford them on their own, and even though most of the children that are in our classrooms have a computer at home, many of them still don't. This organization is a lot like what our school district is doing for our children, giving laptops to students to help them get a better education so we can have a brighter future
